The city of Bayport, MN has a brand new fire hall for the Fire Department!
Their announcement on the Bayport Fire Department website reads, “We’ve moved! We’re excited to announce that we are now operating out of our new facility on the corner of Stagecoach and 5th Avenue North. We are still finalizing some construction details, but can’t wait to show the community our new home. We’ll be hosting a public open house this spring. We’ll post more information as soon as we can.”
Some of the reasons for the new location include:
- Eliminate safety concerns associated with the existing Fire Hall location.
- Improve access to other communities served by the Bayport Fire Department.
- Provide adequate space to contain existing and future expansion of fire apparatus and gear.
- Upgrade office and storage spaces for administrative functions.
- Incorporate multi-purpose spaces to facilitate on-site training, meetings, and public events.
- Identify a location that would minimize traffic and noise impacts to the community.

The 17,400 square foot building contains 5 pull-through apparatus bays, shared office space, training facilities, and dormitories. An open house for the public to tour the Fire Hall building and grounds has been scheduled for April 30, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We hope you can join us to celebrate this major accomplishment, which will ultimately provide a higher level of public safety to Bayport and our service communities of Baytown, West Lakeland, and Oak Park Heights!” – Bayport News, City of Bayport, MN
